The 890 engine is about as good as a p twin can get, esp after an intake and tune. The Duke is significantly sharper and peppier than my adventure, and is just as nimble as they come. The 1290r is just a different thing, man. I've had hayabusa's, r1's, an ebr 1190, z1000, etc. NOTHING feels like a 1290 sdr. a) Hold the 2018 for at least another year - its a great machine, just stop falling over. b) Buy the 2022 SAR, swap the parts you can over and sell the 2018 - total cost about $7,000 -$8,000. c) Buy the 2021 890R, get all new parts to build it and sell the 2018 - total cost about $3,000 - $3500. 7 comments.
