A: We haven't determined the max server population numbers yet, but we'll try to make sure it's high enough that the world feels populated but low enough so WvW doesn't have a constant queue. The number given to us was 300 players per WvW map which means 100 players from a server per map and there are a total of 4maps right now.

Back at game launch it took me 17 hours to reach level 80 on my first character doing a mix of exploring, event farming, heart quests, and the story missions (I did not do all of them before hitting 80). I had some experience with the game already having participated in the betas.
Craft cooking to 400 for example (use gw2crafts.net) for a couple of fast levels. Play the story chapters ever 10 levels. Etc. The only deviation of this: use a level 80 boost on a character; use that character on the first HoT and PoF mission to unlock gliding and raptor; then bench the character and play normally to 80
There are still plenty of lvl 80 zones in the free version for endgame content and the great thing about gw2 is even old maps are still full of players and events. There are no dead maps. You will still be able to do fractals as well which is like our version of end game dungeons.
